the last half of this song, the three minutes of repetition that might otherwise annoy me like most repetitive anything does, is both empowering and cathartic. and the whole song is just plain beautiful.
i made deviled eggs today, with only mild success. but i got a double yolk. isn't that supposed to be lucky, like a four-leaf clover or something?
finished this book today. disappointment abounds. the end feels hurried, ill-planned, and leaves so much unanswered--and not in the way that makes you want to think about it, the sort of rhetorical unanswered ending. it's a detective novel; the point of the genre is that everything ends up neatly tied-off and you follow the detective's logic [or, usually, lack thereof] step-by-step. not this book. i was left flummoxed and unsatisfied, which i don't attribute to lack of ability to understand. i just don't think things were tied together or explained as well as they should have been. too bad, kavalier & clay was fantastic.
